I miss holidays! The last time I went on a holiday was last year, such a long long time ago.
The travel bug in me is just itching to go somewhere, but since I can't travel, I'm looking at my holiday snapshots and reminiscing over some of the lovely memories and experiences of the trips gone by.
Hopefully this will help quench the travel thirst in me for a little while more!

The MIL's wine shop was officially opened today. From selling wines in the temporary premises of OUE building, to a small rented shop at Balestier and finally, to her very own shop in Geylang. Yeah, an address associated with the red light district but at a price too good to resist, which includes 2 private parking spaces at the back and within walking distance from her home. At least the shop is right at the beginning stretch of Geylang with no dodgy "hotels" or "bars" along the street. And the food there is a bonus!
Some pictures of the new shop with enough space to stock her ever-expanding range of French and German wines.
Visited my friend's shop TROLLEY at 20 Amoy Steet today!
It's a lifestyle shop selling really cool stuff from luggages (so pretty!) to wine bottle openers to pillows to chairs....
Do check it out if you're in the area, it's just next to Killiney Kopitiam and across the road from Far East Square. Great place to source for cool gift ideas or furnish your home with designer-style furniture.
Bought 2 cushions from Trolley, and can't decide whether to put it on my sofa or in my car (D might not approve!)
Clowning around
Crazy shower caps
I love the luggages, still can't decide between the white or pink one!
Comfy red chair
Come In / Go Away door hanger
Interesting looking vases
A friend's sister has just opened a lifestyle retail shop called Trolley at 20 Amoy Street.
Do check it out!!!
Went to watch We Will Rock you last thursday and it was fantastic!!
I really enjoyed the musical, maybe because all the songs were familiar to me.... And the energy of the cast was infectious! Wish Singaporeans were more sporting though..... the crowd needed alot of prompting from the cast before they joined in with the clapping and the stomping.
Their voices were amazing! Powerful and pitch perfect!
All in all, a great musical to catch....

I miss the cool, windy and rainy days already....
Clear blue skies are nice, but its getting a little too hot for me. The winds are beginning to shift, and very soon, my house is going to be hot and stuffy, i can already feel it... yucks..

Went shopping yesterday with the intention of buying some clothes and came home with NOTHING... sigh...
Everything single thing I tried on was too big!! Quite upsetting to see that stores seldom have XS nowadays, and even when they do have XS, it doesn't fit me....
Why oh why can't I be bigger??
The final straw came when I saw a pair of shoes I liked and wanted to try on, and was told that they didn't have it in my size!
No wonder I've been buying lots of casual clothes for such a long time.... and looking like a kid half the time... Because adult-looking clothes just DON"T fit me!
Even Mango no longer brings in size 32 for their jackets!
Wish I paid more attention during Home Econs class in secondary 2... then maybe i might just know how to sew my own clothes, and make replicas of all the pretty stuff I see in shops to fit me just nicely!
Anyone has a good tailor to recommend? May have to resort to buying clothes that don't fit and altering all of them... sigh....

Spent the afternoon at a Wine Appreciation event hosted by Lianhe Zaobao featuring New Zealand wines.
It was quite fun, listening to wine reviewer Mr Chng Poh Tiong's take on New Zealand wines. A pretty interesting and amusing speaker I must say. Was a little worried initially because the class was supposed to be conducted in Mandarin, but there were 2 ang moh men who wanted to join, so he spoke in a mixture of English and Mandarin, thank goodness.....
We had a total of 7 different wines to taste, 3 whites and 4 reds. Although I wouldn't say I learned a lot from the tasting, but it was nonetheless a good introduction to the art of tasting wine.
Looking forward to more wine appreciation sessions ahead.... Anyone interested to come with me the next time?

New Year Eve
Invited a group of friends over to our place to celebrate the new year.
Was surprisingly mild, expected it to be rowdier with the amount of snacks and drinks we prepared... Maybe we're getting old? It was the kind of party where everyone just chilled out and talked... my idea of a good party!
New Year

Had supper at Jalan Kayu, yummy prata with ice milo!
Yesterday
Celebrated my FIL's birthday in Lei Garden and as usual, the food we ordered was so yummy!
Had my favourite lobster sashimi and porridge... Don't think anywhere does it as well as Lei Garden..
